Surgery update

Full disclosure - I am typing this blog while on Vicodin so let's hope it's a coherent one. I'm doing ok, every day is better. Jason has been keeping everyone updated on the LHH (Lotsa Helping Hands) website.
I haven't been up for talking on the phone much and it's quite hard to focus on texts on such a small screen size on my phone while I'm on pain meds.

I'm going to cut and paste his updates for those of you who aren't on LHH so you can all also be updated. :-) See below.

Thank you everyone for the flowers, gifts, well wishes, food and support. I am getting stronger every day. This was my first time (since I was born) staying overnight in a hospital and it was hard on me but I got through it. I do miss the Dilaudid. As Alon said, let's applaud for Dilaudid. That was some good stuff. 5x stronger than morphine!

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for your constant support for Rotem. She went into surgery for her single masectomy about an hour ago at Regional Memorial Hospital in Hollywood, FL for those out of towners. It should take roughly 4-6 hrs.

I will send an email when she is out of surgery and recovering. She is staying in the hospital for the night.

Great news!!

I am pleased to report that both of Rotem's surgeries today went great! She is currently in recovery and both her surgeons said everything went as planned.

She is still asleep and wont be able to visit her for another hour as she recovers.

Thank you to all for your positive thoughts and prayers!

Rotem is resting comfortably in her own private room at the hospital. She is feeling better with the help of some good medication and should be discharged tomorrow afternoon where she is going to spend the next week recovering at her parents with me and Tripod.

Thank you again for all the good well wishes for her speedy recovery.

Rotem is finally out of the hospital and resting comfortably at her parents. She had a long day testing the strength of the different pain medications and passing all the tests needed to be done before she could be discharged.

Lily brought over dinner tonight and was delicious. Thank you so much! Tripod also made the trip to her parents. She is currently keeping Rotem company as they are both sleeping.

Please keep the well wishes coming.

Rotem had a mostly full night of sleep last night after a great DINNER from Lily.

Besides getting up to need more pain medicine (hooray for vicodin) and getting her drains emptied, she had a decent night sleep. A home health nurse came by today to give her a sponge bath and change her dressing, so she feels nice and clean. She is enjoying resting and being cared to by her parents, me, and tripod.

Thank you for all those asking to do things and wanting to see her. keep sending me texts and e-mails and when she is up to having visitors I will let you know.
