2012 has already been such a good year and I’m anticipating it can only get better.
January was the first time I would finish chemo.
February was my first mastectomy and the first time I got to hear I’m cancer-free.
March was the first time I returned to work after my mastectomy, the first haircut since I lost my hair to chemo, the first time I became a “D” cup (well, only temporarily and on one side, but still), and the first time I got engaged…and I love every minute of it!
Here is the Facebook link with pictures from Saturday night. Jason did an amazing job with the proposal! He put a ring on it. :-)

(hope the link works)
April was the first time I got tattooed…three times, all for radiation. Tattoo markings that are used for radiation therapy are very small (around 1 millimeter), about the size of a freckle or the head of a pin. They are necessary so the radiation therapist can precisely pinpoint the area needing treatment. These permanent markings are crucial for ensuring the accurate targeting of the tumor area. It also allows the technician to line up the treatment fields quicker making each of your treatment sessions run more smoothly.
During the course of treatment, a tattoo allows me to take showers without worrying about losing the marks that guide my radiation to the most critical spots.
Tomorrow will be my first day back at work since October without my wig, but I got some cute headbands to ensure I still look cute. :-)
Head band or not. You will always look cute :)
