So...I got my MRI results today. Good news is that the left breast is clean. I got booked for the MRI biopsy tomorrow, which let loose a whole wave of emotions. I can barely put a band-aid on my breast over the biopsy wound because it's all black and blue, and now I have to have a needle in that very same place inserted again?! While I'm so grateful I got the appointment so quickly, a little part of me just wanted a little more time.
My breast surgeon is on vacation so the breast radiologist gave me the news today, and then announced she thinks I will need chemo first to shrink the marble. Wait, my breast surgeon told me I was a surgery first candidate!!
I was devastated. I really thought I only needed surgery, maybe "hoped" is the correct word. I am going to stay positive but it's been awfully hard today since I got the news.
J pointed out today that the last 4 Mondays have all been significant: I left Israel, then found the marble, then had a biopsy, then got my MRI results. 4 busy Mondays!
So, final update - tomorrow I've got genetic testing at 8:30 am at Memorial Regional and then my MRI biopsy at Memorial West at 1:00 p.m.
Wish me luck!
The surgeon is gonna know better what they are capable of than a radiologist. Radiologist didn't train as a surgeon. Chin up mama. xoxo
ReplyDeleteWait till you have all the information, not just bits and pieces. Once its all in, they will know the next steps
ReplyDeleteHi hon, try not to dwell on this until you hear back from your surgeon. You still might be going for the surgery option first. Love you.
